Planting People Growing Justice Leadership Institute awarded Cultural Heritage Grant

The Minnesota Humanities Center (MHC), an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities aims to increase awareness of the humanities and cultural programming. One of the ways MHC does this is by providing grants to many organizations and nonprofits that work to increase arts and humanities programming and services in the region.

This year, the MHC welcomed 387 applications for its Cultural Heritage grants and the Planting People Growing Justice Leadership Institute was one of 86 organizations awarded in that category!

We are so thankful to the Minnesota Humanities Center for selecting us and awarding us with a grant in the amount of $135,000. This funding will help us to further our mission of promoting literacy and increasing the amount of diverse books available. We will partner with more writers and assist them with bringing diverse stories to print.

This work is funded in part MHC with money from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund that was created with the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008.
