We are excited to announce the next edition of our Aya Youth Anthology.

“Aya: An Anthology of Racial Justice, Healing and the Black Experience” is embarking on its 2nd edition and looking for Black youth contributors across the African diaspora.
AYA (pronounced as “eye–ah”) is part of adinkra—visual symbols linked to the (former) Gyaman kingdom and Ashanti culture. Aya translates as “fern,” and symbolizes endurance, resourcefulness, and defiance against oppression.
The goal of the anthology is to use art to advance societal reform and inspire youth artists to lead this change.
We welcome submissions from:
Black youth
You can write less than 1,000 words from any of these categories:
fiction or creative nonfiction
prose or poetry
