  • Day 1: Friday, June 28th

    Departure flight to Ghana

  • Day 2: Saturday, June 29th – Accra

    Arrival/Airport pick-up/Welcome dinner/Room check-in

  •  Day 3: Sunday, June 30th – Accra

    You are officially welcome to Accra, the capital city of Ghana. Be ready to see the buzzing Oxford Street, change money, relax, refresh and recover from the overnight flight.  

  • Day 4: Monday, July 1st – Accra/Cape Coast

    Learn about slavery and its impacts from Prof. Ebenezer Ayesu. Prof. Ayensu is a researcher and lecturer at the University of Ghana. His research focuses on Cultural History, Political Economy and Race, Ethnicity and Politics, Religion, Culture and Spirituality in Africa and the African Diaspora.

    With this knowledge, spend your afternoon at the Cape Coast Castle going through the “door of no return” reflecting on the journey of our ancestors.

  • Day 5: Tuesday, July 2nd – Cape Coast

    Enjoy the canopy walk at Kakum National Park. It is one of only 3 locations in Africa with a canopy walkway, which is 350 meters (1,150 ft) long and connects seven tree tops that provide access to the forest.

    Tour Cape Coast, the first capital of Ghana, relax on the beach and have the best coconut juice in the whole wide world.

  • Day 6: Wednesday, July 3rd – Cape Coast/Accra

    Return to Accra

    Learn how to cook the famous Jollof rice (A delicacy that continues to cause the “Jollof Rice War” primarily in the West African region or the delicious red-red.

    You can take Twi lessons to get a pass as a Ghanaian or learn some Ghanaian and African dance moves  

  • Day 7: Thursday, July 4th - Accra/Senchi/Accra

    Learn about governance in Ghana and how the traditional system runs alongside the democratic government

    Meet with Chiefs and Queen mother of Senchi and Akwamuman Traditional area

    Meet Ghana Scholarship Fund (GSF) students and learn about PPGJ educational efforts in the Senchi area

    Tour the Palace and Museum

    Day 8: Friday, July 5th – Accra

    Visit the museum of the first president of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah

    Tour Dr. W. E. B. Dubois Museum where you will find the remains of the legendary pan-Africanist

    Friday night in Accra

    Day 9: Saturday, July 6th - Accra

    Reflect on your trip and its impact

    Depart for the United States

What is included: Hotel (double occupancy), most meals (all breakfast), tours and group-ground transportation

What is not included: Flight, Passport, Visa, Medical requirements, Traveler’s Insurance, COVID testing, some meals and spending money

Other: We strongly advise you to consider extending your trip. If you would like, you can stay in Ghana for a few days or an additional week. Ghana can easily be navigated independently. You will be responsible for additional accommodations and expenses.
