Leadership Development
Planting People Growing Justice Leadership Institute's mission to plant seeds of social change through education, training, and community outreach is guided by a leadership model developed by the founder, Dr. Artika Tyner.
The theory is based on "Planting People Growing Justice" and results in social change as community members grow to view themselves as leaders with the capacity to address their own challenges and realize their power to advance social change.
We recognize that communities of color face racial disparities in nearly every quality of life indicator. Hence, our goal is to provide key leadership training to support our community in leading their own change and building a sustainable, vibrant future.
Be a Leader
We teach youth how to engage in intercultural dialogue, identify a social justice issue to address, and develop a leadership strategy for bringing forth change.
We seek to ensure that our youth are informed, engaged, and actively involved in our work in leading social change.
Women Leading Change
We train and teach women strategies that help them foster leadership development that support them in developing their own specific style of leadership.
By embracing their unique leadership qualities, women become empowered to make a difference in their communities.
In partnership with The Read in Color™ initiative, we are developing community leaders who are promoting literacy at the grassroots level. The Little Free Library is an important addition to the community and aids in teaching youth about the value of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), along with empathy and understanding.
